Auguste Pélabon, was a well admired French artist who studied painting with Pierre Letuaire in Toulon, his hometown, then in Paris in the studio of William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He exhibited at the Salon from 1886 to 1891. Subject matter focused mainly on views of Toulon, landscapes around Toulon and painted many portraits.
